Sadguru Vani (English)

There’s no issue with fruits from trees tended by a Pariah
Crops grown by a low caste person can be consumed
All articles and things produced by him can be used
Pariah’s cow’s milk is considered to be very sacred
Pitcher made by a Potter is so much desired
Blacksmiths iron axe is touched and worshipped
They clean house by broom stick tied by a inferior
They touch with care and secure the sandals made by Cobbler
But the moment such men sit in a elites house it gets desecrated
Seems a Pariah touching an elite would enrage Lord Shiva
They bluff about castes and class which doesn’t exist
What can be said of those corrupt men who caste discriminate humanity
Hail GURU Kanneshwara ||10||

Divinely static, the other dimension has created this world
Its taking care of this in the form of TRINITY
Just like different ornaments are made from same pure solid Gold.
What Guru does is, he erases our illusions about different forms which we think as real, leaves us to reality of solid Gold (pure supreme consciousness,)
This is what Guru does.

Guidance given by appaji

While sitting in Meditation do nothing
Be in the mindset of nothingness
No Home, No Trees, No husband, No wife, no kids Nor Business
Sit as if There’s nothing including sky, earth, plants, trees, or anything in this world.
Then we can Gradually realise our Real SELF.

We should learn to remain contended with whatever we get in life, with whatever falls to our lot. Whatever chance or opportunity we get in life, we should take it that it is God’s blessing and that it has fallen to our lot out of God’s compassion and mercy and learn to live always in happiness and bliss. Thoughts like probably I lack in devotion, probably my seva (service) is not upto the mark, are only the result of mind’s mischievousness. We should never lose heart and feel dejected or disappointed. To remain in bliss and joy, to remain happy and contented and not to worry about things unnecessarily is very helpful to our progress in spirituality.

God’s Voice… HIS fragrance!

The musical swaras (sounds) produced by all the musical instruments
in the world cannot equal God’s voice. One hears that ‘OM’ eversinging
within all by itself. Even if one attempts to hear it by pressing his ears to the
body of the person hearing it, he cannot.

If one smells God’s fragrance, the very first breath stills all his organs
that very instant and his body collapses as it were in bliss. Its sweetness
cannot be described by words even by the person enjoying it. On lookers,
seeing him collapse, may feel that he might have collapsed due to weakness
and exhaustion. The aroma of its fragrance just cannot be expressed in
words. The smell, the aroma, the pleasantness, the sweetness of all the
flowers in the world, including that of the most fragrant ones, cannot come
anywhere near it. People who are near the person inhaling that wonderful
fragrance, cannot have even the remotest idea of it even if they press their
noses against his body and inhale.

The lover of Devotees

The one eternal and absolute TRUTH, should always be remembered
either as God with form or as Parabrahman without form. He can be both
with form and without form. Though formless, he can assume a form because
of his love for his devotee and appear before him in order to please him.
That is why HE is called ‘the lover of devotees’. It is HE who is energizing
all our indriyas (organs), both Jnanendriyas (Organs of cognition or
knowledge) and Karmendriyas (Organs of action) and make them function.
In a corpse, all the organs are there, but why don’t they function? Eyes are
there but don’t see, ears are there but don’t hear, why?

In the world thousands of people have made thousands of names and
mantras. If one says to himself that he will never repeat the name or mantra
of another person, his ego will get puffed up. On the other hand if he goes
on repeating the other man’s mantra, fear arises in him that he has given up
his own mantra and taken to another man’s mantra. But once he is convinced
that all mantras are the same, then he has no trouble at all. That means that
the devotee has
risen to a higher level of understanding.

HE I am

Devotee: Appaji, I do a particular nama japa for sometime every day and then forget all about it. Afterwards whatever name I happen to remember I do the japa of it. Now my trouble is which nama japa I should do. There is lot of confusion and distress in my mind. Will you kindly solve it Appaji?

Appa: There is only one God and only one name. There is no second name at all. The devotee should see only that name and nothing else. He should hold fast to that name. First of all he should understand that there is absolutely no difference between one name and another. Once he attains this equanimity, then he can do japa of any name. Let there be hundred thousand names, they are all the same. Let the name be anything. It is enough if the mind is filled with remembrance of God. Then one comes to realize that all the names are same.

Believing as real the illusion one sees with his eyes and also believing as light and knowledge the darkness and ignorance before him, man is in never-ending confusion and turmoil. Only a guru can help him out by giving him the right knowledge. He will tell him, “You are none of these things. You are bliss itself. You are not this body. You have nothing to do with the troubles and misfortunes connected with your body’. By showing this he ends all his doubts and solves all his problems. Go wherever you want, you can never get rid of your wretchedness, you can never erase your nagging doubts inside you. But when you come to the guru, he will make all the doubts and miseries lose their vigour and intensity.

Guru does not give things material. By materialistic possessions and their enjoyment no one can ever get peace and contentment. That is why guru never tries to satisfy one by granting worldly things. He will grant his devotee the vision of the Absolute and Eternal TRUTH and will end his delusion once for all. When to a devotee who was full of ignorance before. if the existence of the REALITY is proved, then that devotee becomes absolutely fearless and enjoys supreme peace.

Om

Guru ends delusion; bestows supreme peace

One may visit any number of holy places and bathe in any number of sacred rivers, even then his ajnana (ignorance) will not reduce even by a wee bit. This work is possible only by a Sadguru.

Some people think that by reading books and gaining knowledge, they can become spiritual seekers and attain englightenment and Self realisation. Some think that by learning the four Vedas and hundred and eight Upanishads, they will get liberation. Oh God! Is it so easy? You would have read biographies of saints and sages. How much they suffered! How many tests, trials and tribulations they had to undergo! But one thing. It does not mean that everyone has to undergo similar tests, trials and tribulations. One who has attained liberation by undergoing all such suffering will easily show the way to others and lead them on the way. God’s ways are always mysterious. Whomsoever God wants to liberate, HE himself goes to him.

When people do not make any serious attempt to get rid of their egos, God, knowing that this ego is not going to leave them so easily, inflicts any number of difficulties, trials and tribulations upon them. Then they begin to wail and exclaim, ‘Oh God! We were ignorant. We were thinking that we can do anything. Now we know that we are helpless and that you are our only saviour. Kindly help us.’ In this way God will see to it that they lose their egos gradually.

The REALITY free from the EGO of ‘Me and Mine’

The most important thing for every earnest seeker is the end of the ego, the ‘me and mine’ obsession. Without this whatever sadhana you do will be in vain. If you get rid of your ego, it means you have attained the goal of your sadhana and are blessed. It means you have attained the satisfaction, happiness and joy of fulfilment of the purpose of human birth. The saints and sages of yore have struggled hard for any number of years only to get rid of their ego. Even now many earnest sadhakas(seekers), who have renounced everything and have engaged themselves in serious sadhana are still struggling very hard only because they have retained their egos. This ego, this feeling of ‘me’ and ‘mine’, this excessive love for one’s body, this obsession that I am the body, is troubling almost everyone.

‘Dos’ and ‘Don’ts’ are for men, not for Mahatmas

Whatever moral and behavioral standards, whatever rules and regulations, whatever virtuous qualities man finds proper and appropriate to himself, he strongly believes that they alone are right. He wants everyone to strictly adhere to them. But great devotees, saints and Mahatmas do not belong to any caste, creed or religion and are not bound by rules and regulations like, one must live like this, one must eat this only and at this time, one must do this like this and at this time only, one must behave like this etc.

Test

When God begins testing a devotee, if some one troubles him or hurts him or creates difficulties for him, that person will not be doing it out of his own volition. It is God’s will that is making him to do it. God will be watching the devotee also to see how he reacts to the situation.

Remain concerned about your own Sadhana

If you go to a Guru and go on asking him when he was born, how did he grow up, what sadhana he did, what experiences he had etc. etc. and continue repeating the same again and again, trying to know about his achievements directly from him, when are you going to achieve them yourself? It is possible for everyone to achieve that supreme state. In fact the very purpose of human birth is for that only. Everyone should attain that state only. The energy, enthusiasm and zeal one has to know about the experiences of another, one should retain that for one’s own upliftment and utilize the same for his sadhana. One should intently listen to what the Guru says and follow it with deep faith and real devotion.

Beware! never get deluded

Some devotees engage themselves in spiritual disciplines like worship japa and dhyana for quite sometime in their lives with sincerity and devotion and come to attain a fairly good state in the spiritual ladder. Then something happens and they fall a prey to some materialistic desire. They get caught again in the web of birth and death.

While walking on the spiritual path, if one takes to a Guru, does seva, follows his teachings and obtains his grace, Guru will never forsake him, he will always keep a loving watch over him through his ‘Krupa Kataksha’ (gaze full of love and grace).

“We have to correct errors and remove faults that exist in our nature, in our personality. People who are on the spiritual path and are engaged in sadhana will have to change their nature. We can do anything but cannot change our nature. But Brahmarshi Narada says that unless we get rid of our nature Datta will not grant us Mukti. We have to forgo certain wrong traits in our nature. Thereby we become pure and sanctified. It is as if we have taken a new birth. It is akin to grafting. If we graft a red rose with the branch of a white rose plant, the new plant, though it looks exactly like the mother plant will bear white roses instead of red ones. In the same way if we forgo our natural traits we will have a new birth.

God responds hiding inside

Let the body be in any part of the world, God continues to reside inside it all the same. It may appear strange but it is true that he may respond to our intense innermost feelings in his own mysterious way, often through someone of HIS own choosing. It is important that we understand this.

God’s ways are always very mysterious, highly esoteric in nature and difficult to comprehend.

In the Ocean of life | I was drowning
Trusting the Illusio¬ns of life | I was insane
It became unbearable | burden of life
Refusing to give up | I was Bound by attachments
Caught between the violent tides| I was battered
Clinging to Illusion | I was floating and sinking
Finding no solace | “Shiva, Shiva” I was crying
Being Intoxicated ag¬ain | Darkness surro¬unded me,
Wondering How to reach him | I was feeling lost and helpless
Guru, the angel of re¬scue | He came, hearing my cry
Caught in Dark of karma | Relieving me from its Shackles
He shook me awake | Safely I was, guided to the shore
See, I humbly surrender to the lotus feet of Sri Guru Hanuman¬thaji
Hail Shiva Guru kanneshwara

Jai Guru Datta
I’m neither born nor am going to die
I’m no baby nor a youth
I’m not a middle aged man nor an old man,
I’m neither this physical body nor its part, just a witness of this.
I may leave this body, but not die,
Death is only for this body but not for me,
Whoever assumes he is the body, dies,
I m the one, who enlightens all physical bodies
Whoever realises this, of me, who’s the Lord, witness, of this physical body, never die.
